FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
How do I pay for classes?
Paying for classes is very easy. If paying in person, you can pay by check (made payable to CEGW), cash, debit card, or credit card. You may also choose to pay by phone with a credit card. You will immediately receive a payment receipt via email.
What should my child wear for class?
For the girls, the recommended apparel is a leotard (with or without shorts). If your daughter does not own a leotard, then gym shorts and tucked in t-shirt will suffice. Apparel should not be too loose fitting or should not include any buttons, zippers, or anything else that can catch on the equipment. No jewelry of any kind.
If your gymnast has long hair, it must be tied back for class. A simple ponytail, bun, braid or any other style that keeps the hair out of the face is just fine.
Do your classes run in sessions?
Our classes are based on a monthly schedule. The classes are on-going and you are welcome to schedule a trial lesson for the appropriate class based on availability.
Are your teachers qualified?
CEGW has one of the most experienced and qualified team of instructors in the state. Many of our coaches have had decades of experience with all ages and abilities of instruction. Our coaches are safety certified through the US Gymnastics Federation as well as Background Check Certified through National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI).

What do students do in a class and how do I track their progress?
Every class uses a curriculum developed from certified coaches of gymnastics knowledge as athletes, managers, and parents.
Intro Level 1 & Level 1 classes begin with basic gymnastics body positions and skills. With a proper gymnastics foundation, students will learn much quicker as they progress through the levels. While all students in a class will roughly work on the same skills, students are promoted and taught at their own, individual pace. One student might complete a gymnastics level in a few short weeks whereas another student might take longer to complete the same level. Be patient so that your child can have a great experience learning and growing in this wonderful sport.
When your child has mastered all the skills in her level, his/her instructor will then inform you that they are ready for promotion to the next level.
All classes begin with a warm-up to raise the core body temperature to prepare for athletic activity.
Can parents watch?
Yes. Anytime.
My child is interested in joining team. What does she need to do?
All female athletes who achieve the necessary skills and strength requirements to promote into our Level 2 program will be given the opportunity to join our team program. Level 2 athletes will get the chance to pick and choose from a list of competitions to enter. The competition season for Level 2 runs from January to April. Registering for these meets are an additional expense. Unlike all other gyms, there are no team tryouts. Everyone should get the opportunity to experience the benefits of belonging on a team, competing as a team, and growing as a team in a sport that they are passionate about.
Advancing to Level 3 to Level 10 is based on skill acquisition and mastery. CEGW has one of the largest and most successful Team Programs in the area. Come and see what the excitement is about!
